At this point in time, it's impossible to find out exactly what happened, the key is that Acrobat is not prompting to recover from a saved version anymore, and that means that there is nothing for you to recover anymore. As far as you second file is concerned, it is possible that because the application crashed while you were saving the file, Acrobat assumes that the file was already saved (when in fact it was not), or that the changes were made before the automatic save occurred. That may have been from five or ten minutes before the crash happened, so it's very unlikely that you can recover everything you've done up to the crash. When Acrobat crashes, it will try to recover that last saved version of your file. Acrobat automatically saves changes you are making every few minutes (you can configure how often). When I say "Acrobat" in the following answer, it means either Adobe Acrobat or the free Adobe Reader. ![]()
